Artists Retreat at Long Gull Pond2

Stephenville Crossing is home to many talented artists, a number of whom are members of the Bay St. George Artist's Association. The Association which began in 1973, now has a membership of 25.

The BSG Artists Association gives local artists the opportunity to exhibit their works in a professional setting, and gives residents a chance to see, just how much talent there is, right here in our own community.

Membership in the association also provides a means of sharing ideas, through workshops, and input from other well known artists. Each year members donate works of art to organizations such as Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, SCAPA, and The Theatre Festival. They have an annual Spring Exhibition, which is thoroughly enjoyed by the viewing public.

In October of this year, the Bay St. George Artists Association held a retreat at Long Gull Pond. Here are some shots of the artists at work.

One of the long time members of the Association from Stephenville Crossing is Ms. June Foley. June has painted for over 20 years in spite of suffering from debilitating arthritis. Some of her works are featured below.
